The Wild

A couple weeks ago I purchased a new bird feeder from a local "general" store. (Yes, those do exist here) We hung it in our living room window to watch all the birds come and go. We get so many different colors and types of birds.

Note the sunny day we're having.
Seriously.

Getting a little too crowded

------

Trekking through the marsh in Chinook. This is a great place to bring dogs if the beach is full of Portland/ Seattle visitors.

I guess this day we were only taking pictures of each other from the back.

Beautiful day!

Wading through a yucky river. The water nearly came up to the top of my rain boots. Every time you tried to step forward your foot would create a suction in the mud/ water.

That black dot in the center of the picture is a black bear. It was a pretty good size. He went his own way when we started shooting D's gun to get Bogey used to the sound.
(Not that productive of a gun-training day. I ended up covered in mud from Bogey jumping on me to pick him up. Wimp.)

Side note: our little Ruca came gun-trained. She doesn't even flinch!

Tiny New Addition

Over the weekend we added a new German Shorthaired Pointer to our family. She's from a local breeder in Oregon. We've named her Ruca, which means "pretty girl" or "girl chosen over all others." As of yesterday she's 9 weeks old.

Bogey is no longer the lil pup in the family. He's doing great with her and seems to only care when she attempts to play with his toys. At first she was afraid of him because of how tall he is compared to her. But, she's instigating a lot of the play now.

Still working on potty/ crate training. We've had some accidents but it's getting a little better. We're also upping her food intake as she's a little underweight.

Stuck

A few days ago D got stuck in the ocean's wet sand.

Using his body to try to pull his foot out.

That didn't work so he tried digging his foot out. (While trying to save his flip flops)

Showing off how far down his foot was in the sand. He was able to save his flip flops.

D was stuck for a good 15 minutes.

Instead of helping I took pictures.
(snicker)

Final Days in California

Got to see our itty bitty kitty, Dallas. She's not so itty bitty anymore.

Besties

Tree and acorn

Stopped by to see my Lilli-vanilli. She'll be 4 this year!

Putting chapstick on Bogey

She was NOT happy that we had to go.

Bugged my big bro at work.

Delightful grilled cheese and limeade from Sonic. Didn't even think to get a picture of any of the four times we went to In-n-Out.

I think it's after driving for 7 hours that you start to have a mini photo shoot in your car.

That's right- the lil pup uses an airplane pillow. He's classy like that.

Go To Disney With Us & Leave a Little Stranger

Today was our third and final day at Disneyland. We had lots of fun! On our first day at Disneyland I purchased a season pass. I need to go just one more time this year and the pass will have paid for itself. Woo hoo!

Something that's not "woo hoo"- an 80-something year old lady had a heart attack either on Indiana Jones or just after. They had to stabilize her and call for an ambulance. Pretty sad.

Anyways....

Caught SIL, Stephanie, in a parade. Don't worry- she's wearing a wig

I've seen her perform in this parade a ton of times yet I still take a bazillion pictures of her.

It's a tradition that we call D's best friend, Adam, while we're on Big Thunder Mountain. Usually the call ends up being a voice mail.

D always cracks us up with what he says while on the phone

Peat and repeat

Not sure what's going on in this one, but we're waiting to go on Tower of Terror.

We found Cousin It.
(How terrible are we for taking pics of other people at d-land? Sad thing is our people-watching comments are even worse.)

Us on the Tower of Terror (back row)

I married this guy?

Disney has an Erin Snack Bar: cereal, Oreos, Chips Ahoy, and GIANT bags of Crisps*. It's like they knew I was coming!

Family picture...Steph met up with us after her parade.

*Crisps are packages of freeze-dried fruit that you can get from Costco. They don't last long in our house.
